Last Mile On the Go: Repackaging Good Food

Imagine trays of pulled pork from a stadium after a game, mashed potatoes from a local hospital or chicken from a school cafeteria. Last Mile On the Go  partners with Easterseals Redwood to repackage large trays into smaller grab-and-go containers.

  • 175,479 pounds of prepared food rescued and repackaged in 2024
  • 146,000 meals provided

Last Mile On the Go: Repackaging Good Food

Imagine trays of pulled pork from a stadium after a game, mashed potatoes from a local hospital or chicken from a school cafeteria. Last Mile rescues large trays of prepared food and currently partners with Community Hub at Easterseals Redwood to repackage them into smaller grab-and-go containers for distribution to those in need.

At a time when 60 percent of food-insecure households report barriers to cooking meals at home, such as lack of kitchen access, time or resources, Last Mile On the Go offers relief.

  • 175,479 pounds of prepared food rescued and repackaged in 2024
  • 146,000 meals provided
