Testimonials
Delivering Food For Our Partner Agencies
We love the food from Last Mile! With 14 kids here eating three meals a day, the variety is awesome and it really helps with our budget. The kids especially love taco nights when we get food from Gomez. It's become a big favorite around here!
Delisa Brooks
Last Mile's critically important mission to rescue excess fresh food from going to the landfill and get it to those who need it most is vital to thousands in our community who struggle with food insecurity and poverty - including our guests.
Georgine Getty
Last Mile has helped us out immensely. We had a woman that came in and she grabbed my face with her hands, and she looked at me and said, 'I want you to hear this; if we were not able to get this food, my family would not be eating.' Last Mile is helping people in very real ways.
John Sinclair
Life Learning Center is fortunate to receive sizeable food donations from Last Mile. Our kitchen staff is always impressed with the quality of the food. Receiving food of this caliber that is not only delicious but also nutritious allows us to surprise and delight our members who eat with us daily.
Alecia Webb-Edgington
Since we've moved to a new location, the need is so much higher in this area. The food that we are getting from Last Mile is a lifesaver and they are always on the lookout to find more food to meet the high demand.
Merry Leone
Thanks to our partnership with Last Mile Food Rescue, St. Vincent de Paul – Cincinnati can provide thousands of pounds of quality food choices to our neighbors each year. The food rescued by Last Mile expands the options on our pantry shelves, allowing neighbors to choose products that meet the needs of their family, their culture, and their health. Last Mile helps us to not only feed our neighbors, but to do so with dignity, nutrition and hope.

Looking for Food?

Our mission is to connect excess food with agencies that can distribute it. We work with food pantries, but do not distribute food at our Last Mile office. We do offer food through our Last Mile Market in Avondale. Other Cincinnati organizations also distribute food. Find more information here.

Does Last Mile Food Rescue give out food to individuals?
No. Last Mile partners with hunger relief organizations and food pantries, handling the logistics of moving excess food to the agencies that need it for their clientele. If you are in need of food for yourself or your family, please visit United Way 211 to find a distribution location near you.
What kinds of food do partner agencies receive?
Last Mile works with each of our partners to find the right rescue to fit their needs. We look at criteria such as capacity to receive, distance to food donors and receiving hours. Food donations include produce, dairy, frozen meat, deli, baked goods, prepared trays and occasional shelf-stable products.
How often will our organization receive food?
Last Mile works with our partner agencies to establish frequency and match them with companies that donate food to nonprofits. Some rescues will be one-time opportunities and others are set up on a weekly basis. To be considered as a partner agency, join our waitlist.
How do you find companies that donate food to nonprofits?
At Last Mile Food Rescue, we proactively build relationships with businesses that have surplus food including grocery stores, restaurants, caterers, distributors and other food businesses in the Greater Cincinnati area. We build these relationships so organizations that receive donated food can focus on serving their communities.
