Food Rescue Program App - Last Mile Food Rescue Cincinnati

Our mission is to connect excess food with agencies that can distribute it. We work with food pantries, but do not distribute food at our Last Mile office. We do offer food through our Last Mile Market in Avondale. Other Cincinnati organizations also distribute food. Find more information here.

What kinds of food do partner agencies receive?

Last Mile works with each of our partners to find the right rescue to fit their needs. We look at criteria such as capacity to receive, distance to food donors and receiving hours. Food donations include produce, dairy, frozen meat, deli, baked goods, prepared trays and occasional shelf-stable products.

How often will our organization receive food?

Last Mile works with our partner agencies to establish frequency and match them with companies that donate food to nonprofits. Some rescues will be one-time opportunities and others are set up on a weekly basis. To be considered as a partner agency, join our waitlist.

How do you find companies that donate food to nonprofits?

At Last Mile Food Rescue, we proactively build relationships with businesses that have surplus food including grocery stores, restaurants, caterers, distributors and other food businesses in the Greater Cincinnati area. We build these relationships so organizations that receive donated food can focus on serving their communities.
